Therapy Modalities

Social Support Services offers a variety of therapeutic modalities to help our clients achieve their goals.  We work with each client to determine the best approach for their unique needs and provide a safe and supportive environment for their healing journey. We have provided as short description some of the most common modalities below:

01

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. It is a goal-oriented and practical approach that helps individuals develop coping skills and strategies to manage their mental health. CBT has been shown to be effective in treating a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

02

Dialectical Beahviour Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a form of therapy that focuses on helping individuals regulate their emotions, manage stress, and improve their relationships with others. It is a highly effective treatment for a variety of mental health conditions, including individuals who experience heightened emotional responses, or who exhibit more self-destructive or impulsive behaviours.

03

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on the connection between the mind and body. It involves using physical sensations and movements to help individuals process and release emotional pain and trauma. This therapy can be helpful for those who have experienced trauma, chronic pain, anxiety, and depression.

04

Therapeutic Coaching

Therapeutic coaching is a form of coaching that combines traditional coaching techniques with therapeutic principles. It is designed to help individuals overcome emotional and psychological barriers that may be preventing them from achieving their goals. Through a combination of talk therapy, mindfulness practices, and goal-setting exercises, therapeutic coaching can help individuals gain greater self-awareness, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and ultimately lead more fulfilling lives.

05

Relationship Therapy

Relationship therapy aims to help all parties involved in the relationship to identify and resolve conflicts, improve communication, and strengthen their emotional connection. A safe and supportive environment for the parties to express their feelings and work towards a healthier relationship. The goal of relationship therapy is to help all parties build a stronger and more fulfilling relationship.

06

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps individuals to accept their thoughts and feelings, and commit to making positive changes in their lives. It is based on the idea that trying to control or eliminate negative thoughts and emotions can be counterproductive, and that accepting them can lead to greater psychological flexibility and well-being. ACT therapy often involves mindfulness exercises, values clarification, and goal-setting to help individuals live more meaningful and fulfilling.
